This family had just moved to Jersey, and their littlest was turning one.  Their little girl was a perfect little model, and the birthday boy was all smiles for his photoshoot.  We opted to meet at Smithville Mansion, which provided plenty of pretty options for backdrops.  I love to start out in the field, where the light shines through and gives the images such an organic look.

They did a great job coordinating outfits, mixing and matching pattern and color, using blue for their inspiration.

 

We switched it up and went inside the gates, and found a perfect spot with diffused light. Again, birthday boy was all smiles!!!

And who can resist the barn as a backdrop?  I am seriously addicted to this place.

And now for the cake smash…
